What is Sumerzé Verified?

Sumerzé Help Center

✓ Sumerzé Verified
This provider has completed a government-issued ID check through Stripe Identity. Their real name and identity have been confirmed by Sumerzé.

What the badge means

The Sumerzé Verified badge (✓) appears on a provider's profile when they have successfully completed our identity verification process. It tells you. Before you book. That the person you're hiring is a real, identified individual.

What it does NOT mean

Sumerzé Verified confirms a provider's identity. It does not vouch for the quality of their work, their credentials, or their professional licensing. It simply means: the person in the profile is who they say they are.

How providers get verified

1
Provider pays a one-time $9.99 fee as an in-app purchase through the App Store (covers the cost of the identity check).
2
Provider completes a government-issued ID scan (passport, driver's license, or national ID) using Stripe Identity. The same technology banks use.
3
A selfie match is performed to confirm the ID belongs to the person submitting it.
4
If the check passes, the Sumerzé Verified badge is added to their profile automatically.

Privacy & data

ID photos and verification data are processed by Stripe Identity and are not stored by Sumerzé. Sumerzé only receives a pass/fail result. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Frequently asked questions

Q: If a provider is NOT verified, does that mean they're untrustworthy?
No. Many excellent providers haven't completed verification yet. It's optional and takes time. Always check reviews, ratings, and portfolio photos as well.
Q: Can a provider lose their Verified badge?
Yes. If a provider violates Sumerzé's community guidelines or their identity check is disputed, their badge may be removed.
Q: I'm a provider. How do I get verified?
Open the Sumerzé app → Profile → Your Badges → Sumerzé Verified. The process takes about 5 minutes.
Q: Is $9.99 refundable if I fail the check?
The payment is made through the App Store, so refunds are handled by Apple, not Sumerzé. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. One payment covers one verification attempt, and you can retry the scan for free if it asks you to try again.
Q: Does verification mean I'm licensed?
No. Sumerzé Verified only confirms identity, not professional licensing, certifications, or credentials. Providers are responsible for meeting all local licensing requirements.
